We waren al vroeg vertrokken om 7 uur om de files voor te zijn. De kamersleutel hebben we in de soort bus die naast de gesloten receptie hing gegooid. Verder de beddengoed ingeleverd. Niks afscheid of zo. Daar hadden we geen behoefte aan, aangezien dat hostel niet aan onze verwachtingen voldaan had. We vertrokken zonder ontbijt te nuttigen. De route naar huis had ik met opzet gewijzigd dan wat de Google Maps voorgesteld had om toch sneller thuis te komen. Gewoon doorrijden op A7 tot Hannover, daarna op A2 tot Dortmund. Daar zijn nauwelijks wegwerkzaamheden. We konden flink opschieten soms zij wat schuddend door de betonnen wegvakken tussen Hamburg en Hannover.

We left early at 7 am to avoid the traffic jams. We threw the room key in the kind of bus that hung next to the closed reception. Furthermore, the bed linen returned. Nothing goodbye or something. We didn't need that, since that hostel had not met our expectations. We left without eating breakfast. I had deliberately changed the route home than what the Google Maps had suggested to get home faster. Continue on A7 to Hanover, then A2 to Dortmund. There are hardly any roadworks there. We were able to get along quite a bit, sometimes they shook a bit through the concrete sections between Hamburg and Hanover.

Tussen Hannover en Dortmund ging geleidelijk "bergafwaarts" tot we de Autobahnkreuz met A1 richting Keulen bereikten. Daarna namen we de A46 die langs Wüppertal en ten zuiden van Düsseldorf helemaal tot Zuid-Limburg voerde. Gelukkig paar korte files vanwege kleine wegwerkzaamheden. De reis duurde totaal 8 en half uur inclusief totaal 1 en half uur pauzes. Dus al om half 4 thuis.

Between Hanover and Dortmund we gradually "went downhill" until we reached the Autobahnkreuz with the A1 in the direction of Cologne. Then we took the A46 that went all the way to South Limburg past Wüppertal and south of Düsseldorf. Fortunately few short traffic jams due to minor road works. Denemarken is echt prachtig land, met vele toeristische mogelijkheden. Duur land zeggen sommigen. Soms is het voor zekere mate waar, maar het hangt ervan af hoe je het bekijkt. Dranken worden vaak in grote glazen of koppen geserveerd. Je kunt ook om halve kop vragen dan zijn de prijzen ineens hetzelfde als in Nederland. Uiteten kost ongeveer evenveel als in Amsterdam of zo. Maar echte Deense snacks zoals de befaamde hotdogs kost het nog geen 4 euro. Genoeg om je buik mee te vullen. Ik waardeer typisch Deens eten erg en niet te vergeten vooral de bier! Verder hou ik van de Deense "hygellige" leefstijl. Misdaad komt er minder mate dan in Nederland voor omdat er daar minder sociale ongelijkheid voorkomt. We kwamen niet eens bedelaars tegen. Het verkeer daar is ook meer rustiger. Toch is het raadzaam om gebruikelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen te treffen vooral in de grote steden. Ik heb ook wat Deense zinnen geleerd zodat ik wat gesprekken met Denen kon voeren, tot grote waardering van hun kant.

Denmark is a really beautiful country, with many tourist options. Some say expensive country. Sometimes it is true to a certain extent, but it depends on how you look at it. Beverages are often served in large glasses or cups. You can also ask for half a head then the prices are suddenly the same as in the Netherlands. Dining out costs about the same as in Amsterdam or something. But real Danish snacks such as the famous hot dogs cost less than 4 euros. Enough to fill your belly. I really appreciate typical Danish food, not to mention especially the beer! I also love the Danish "hygelligeic" lifestyle. Crime is less common than in the Netherlands because there is less social inequality there. We didn't even meet beggars. The traffic there is also more quiet. Yet it is advisable to take the usual precautions, especially in the big cities.I also learned some Danish sentences so that I could have some conversations with Danes, much to their appreciation.

Het postwezen in Denemarken is radicaal veranderd. Tegenwoordig heet het nu Postnord, een fusie tussen Deense, Finse, Noorse en Zweedse posterijen omdat er nauwelijks brieven gebruikt wordt. Ieder land mag eigen postzegels uitgeven en ook eigen posttarieven bepalen. Vaak is het nu echt draconisch duurder geworden om een brief of kaart naar Nederland te versturen, nl. 30 DKK, bijna 4 euro! Vroeger waren er prachtige postzegels gedrukt, maar nu praktisch saaie en zelfklevende postzegels. Gelukkig mag je wat oudere en mooie postzegels gewoon gebruiken. Speciale stempels zijn nu zeldzaam, af en toe gelegenheidsstempels. Ga verder naar stempelinfo, klik dan voor de nieuwste bulletin op pdf-formaat. Je kunt gerust je brieven of kaarten binnen 1 maand na de ingangsdatum bij de stempelcentrale in Brondby of in Kopenhagen inleveren voor bepaalde stempels. Let op; de stempels worden vaak precies in het midden van de zegels geplaatst. Zorg dus voor de lichtkleurige postzegels zodat je het afbeelding van de stempel kunt zien.
